„todays the day where i will start my journey, i will leave my family behind, i mean i feel sad but also liberated. i cant live my whole life with them in their forest on this tiny island, right? i know there is more out there, i will be a great fortune hunter. the fearless and strong chiusan.“


come to think of it, i dont even know if they are my real family to begin with, they dont look like me at all, their skin is snow white compared to mine, even our eyes differ. papa meant that i am unique and that he has never seen someone like me before „well aint it the truth i am pretty great after all.“ i burst out with pride 


a familiar voice appears above me „ so you are already planning on leaving us just like that huh? i dont think you will make it out there, not a chance.“ he climbs down the tree „are you sure you dont want to stay with us?“ 


big brother seem to have listened what i was saying „cut it out, you are just jealous that i can leave this stinky forest!“


„the fearless and strong chiusan huh? its almost as if it happened yesterday when you ran to me and dad because of some thunder. you were crying like a little baby!“ 


big brother is always making fun of me, i will show him that i am no child anymore.


„before i forget it, dad meant everything is prepared, you can come now“ brother says while leaving.


no longer will i be a child, today i am a real woman, a real adult. here they are, everyones waiting for me. „Happy birthday chiusan“ all my friends and family welcome me full with joy. i waited so long for this to happen but now... now i feel as if i have lost something. i will leave them, i have to right? just a few minutes ago i was so sure about everything, but now... i feel how tears want to burst out of my eyes but i hold them back by squeezing my eye lids together. 


„Chiusan we all know how you always act strong in front of everyone, its okay my dear.“ papa comes out of the crowd, he always knew when i felt troubled.


„papa i dont think i want to leave this forest anymore, i think i will sta-“ „no you will leave this forest my dear, it is your destination to venture out.“

„I think you have already noticed it, but we and you are a completely different species. i may not be your real father, but we will always stay your family.“ 

„you have to leave us to find your own purpose my dear...“


„man i cant stand this anymore!“ big brother hugs me „i dont want to let my stupid lil sis go, i will come with her if i have to!“ wow, its the first time i see my brother like this...


„no i forbid it, chiusan has to go alone.“ papa interrupts him „we made something for you“

my friends carry a big box to me. i hesitate for a moment before i open it, its a cloak! made out of the leafs and branches of this forest! 


big brother is wiping off his tears „ so you always fell home ya know.“ 

the cloak fits me perfectly.


„its getting dark chiusan, follow me.“ papa is probably leading me to the old railroad, the only way off this island, everyone is following us. „over the years we did our best to raise you prepared for whatever you may face, we hope it was enough. this old train should bring you to the mainland, its best you start your journey from there.“ 


the mainland...


„But what will i find there?“ „a purpose, i am sure about that...“ 


„OI, if anybody harms you i will give them a few punches sis!“ everyone gathers around me.

„we will miss you!“

„dont do anything dangerous you hear me?“ 

„if you get back you better bring me something from your journey!“


i nod, it is clearly visible that papa is holding back his tears. i take a look at the rails that vanish into the horizon, with a heavy heart i enter the small train. „better pray its still working sis, or not i guess.“ shortly after the mechanical roar of the engine breaks the silence. „keep your butt in it and dont you dare to get out and swim back to us!“


as the train is slowly gaining speed i wave my family, friends and my forest farewell until they are no longer visible. i lay down on the ground and listen to the relaxing sound of the engine. and so my journey begins „the journey of chiusan, the great and fearless adventurer“

nopis world locations+lore 1.0

[ancient sea] location
the first thing that ever started nopis world was an endless red sea created by the blood of the goddess, from this live in form of plants started to grow and soon the planet was covered in her plants. the plants joined together and formed the arch trees, giant pillars that serve as base for their world. eons passed, the plants started to fossilise and thus created earth. to this day, deep down buried bellow still lies this sea giving life to earth.

 

[the forest] location
as pagans, nopis worship their nature since they believe it is a gift to them from their goddess. when the war against the demons started, a lot of nature had to suffer under the war industry. their solution was a group with the sole purpose of planting new trees and give back what they took from nature. as time went on contact with the forest division has been lost. the forest division started to live far away from wars and death, they established a village in their forest and at some point a baby was found. this baby is later known as chiusan.forest tank by Chiusan


[the capital] location
the capital is located in a crevice, not only is it the place where the king resides but also the main industrial hotspot. the only way to access the capital is trough a rail network, its location makes it difficult for demons to get to since they are too tall to fit trough the narrow crevice. the capital is the most important place since it supplies the fronts with vehicles, weapons and recourses.

[chiusan goddess] lore
As soon as Chiusan becomes the new goddess a lot of nopis will vanish. when the original goddess disappeared the concept of natural death went with her, nopis no longer were part of nature and its rules. if not for the war they would have been immortal, but as soon as Chiusan has become the new goddess, death will also reappear. to save her friends from the demons that slowly decimates the population she has to become the goddess, but in return this will destroy the entire generation of Nopis as they are an error in natures system.chiusan as a child by Chiusan

[pirate Nopis] lore
Pirate nopis are a small group of rebels that stood up against king nopi. they are infamous for their raids, pirate nopis dont use deadly weaponry, they mainly use guns that shoot sleeping-gas grenades. after their targets fell asleep they draw funny faces on them and steal their equipment. pirate Nopis hide in an abandoned ruin that has been said to be full of miasma.

[the seven days] location
the reactor that was built around the goddess to harvest her energy is located deep under the earth, a failed attempt that lead to the creation of the demons. the facility is now abandoned for security reasons, plants grew from the goddesses blood and started to emit the deadly miasma that turned nopis into demons. the reactor is only accessable by a underground rail network.the goddess by Chiusan

[snow nopis] lore
these nopis were part of a special unit that was sent out to create an outpost and prisons in the snowy fields, because of the lack of coordination and communication they have created their own society, snow nopis also made a culture of their own which includes fist fighting, using scrap metal as sleds and a competition about who can drink the most fuel. surprisingly they manage to stay alive.

mainly consisting out of prisons where pirate nopis are stored, while snow nopis dont really listen to king nopis orders they still keep the pirates stored away just because they can. however their definition of stored away is quite liberal, they have included the prison structures into their makeshift houses and often welcome their prisoners to party with them.

[white death] lore
heavy snowstorms often cover the snowy fields, because of the deadly cold snow nopis often barricade themselves inside their houses. a snowstorm can last for multiple days. the snow nopis called this phenomenon white death since everyone caught by it will never return.

[attack on the capital] lore
pirate nopis plan to attack king nopi with one mighty blow, they will use stolen bombers to fly their tanks over the capital and drop them with a parachute. once the bombers dropped their load they will have to take care of the attacking air fleet of king nopi, the two massive bomber formations will engage in an air battle.unfortunately they fail in their attempt to free their fellow nopis from the regime of king nopi and get captured and transported to the snowy fields.grim world of nopi by Chiusan

[pirate nopi village] location
king nopis troops dont go near that place because of the rumor that the ruins are full of miasma. king nopi however knows they hide there, he himself made up the rumor to keep the troops away from that place, it is an old ruin that tells the story of the creation of their world and about the goddess. information that is strictly kept secret by the king. pirate nopis use the fossilised plants for their homes and live inside of them.

Nopis Welt 2

„Nopi denkt wir müssten uns bald der Stadt nähern." ruft Nopi aus dem Panzer innerem, immer mehr Häuser tauchen am Horizont auf. Was uns dort wohl erwarten wird? Wie ist wohl der König? Nopi hat mich vorhin auf dem Feld gefragt ob ich ein lieber Dämon bin... Es hat auch gesagt das sie einen Krieg gegen Dämonen führen... 

Ich seufze „Wenn ich doch nur eine Antwort auf all meine fragen hätte..."

Die Umgebung hier... Sie ist wunderschön, überall Bäume Sträucher und Büsche. Ich blicke in den Himmel „Wenn ich genauer darüber nachdenke ist es eigentlich egal wer ich mal war, wichtig ist wer ich jetzt bin."

Eine Stimme reißt mich aus meinen Gedanken „Halt dich gut fest!" Verwirrt blicke ich mich nach etwas um an dem ich mich festhalten könnte, zu meinem entsetzen gibt es nichts. Der Panzer bremst und schlittert über den Boden bis er endlich zum stillstehen kommt. „Wir sind hier Chiusan! Nopi hat uns sicher in die Stadt gebracht!" Es klettert aus dem Panzer innerem hervor und sieht wie ich in einem Gebüsch liege, ein paar meter vom Panzer entfernt.

„Wenigstens sind wir hier" sage ich lächelnd während ich mich aus den Klauen des Gebüschs befreie. 

„Wir sind hier!" ruft nopi und rennt um mich herum, dafür das es eine solche Maschine bedient ist es ziemlich... Kindlich.

„Panzer Halt!" höre ich in einem tiefen Ton, Nopi bleibt verwundert stehen und wir sehen das vor uns ein Großer grauer Panzer mit mehreren Türmen anhält, er ist Größer als Nopis Panzer und wirkt mit seiner grauen düsteren Bemalung bedrohlich. Aus dem oberen Turm klettert ein Nopi mit Stahlhelm „Hast du nicht die Warnung gehört das diese Gegend evakuiert wird?" 

Das würde erklären warum wir keine anderen Nopis hier antreffen... „Wer ist das? Feind! Oder Freund?" das Nopi mit dem Stahlhelm deutet auf mich. „Ich? Ehm ich bi-" mein Begleiter  unterbricht mich „Das ist ein Chiusan, ich hab es auf einer Wiese gefunden und jetzt wollen wir zu King Nopi!" Das Nopi mit dem Stahlhelm beäugt mich kritisch „Keine Hörner, keine rote Haut und ein Gesicht...ihr könnt weiter, aber passt auf euch auf." Ein zweites Nopi klettert aus dem Panzer und ruft „Achtet auf die Sirenen, wenn ihr sie hört solltet ihr rennen, am besten in den Wald!" Nopi und ich nicken, der Panzer fährt weiter und verschwindet hinter einem Haus. Das war komisch, rote Haut, Hörner und kein Gesicht? Das hört sich furchtbar an... Nopi zupft an meiner Hose „Wir müssen da entlang!" Ich lupfe es hoch und trage es in die richtung in die es zeigt. „Hast du keinen Namen?" frage ich es „Wenn hier jeder Nopi heißt muss das doch ein ziemliches durcheinander sein." Nopi zuckt mit den schultern „Und hier müssen wir jetzt gerade aus!" 

Ich biege ab, diese Stadt ist wirklich süß eingerichtet... Kleine Häuser mit schildern auf denen das Gesicht eines Nopis abgebildet ist. „Es ist wirklich unglaublich das so etwas süßes wie ihr einen Krieg führt" sage ich, wenn man sich Nopis so ansieht ähneln sie eher kleinen Tieren. „Der Krieg dauert schon an seitdem ich geschaffen wurde..." sagt Nopi „Es gehört für jeden von uns zum Alltag."

Das ist doch furchtbar... „Wir sind hier!" ruft Nopi plötzlich und springt mir aus den Armen. 

Vor uns ist ein Großer Palast, Nopi ist vorgerannt zu der Wache die den Eingang bewacht, es gestikuliert wild und am ende schauen sie mich an, tuscheln etwas und schauen mich wieder an. Ich winke und lächle, diese entspannte Welt die ich auf der Wiese kennen gelernt habe ist doch ziemlich geregelt... Die Wache kommt zu mir und setzt ihren Helm ab.

Mit großen funkelnden Augen starrt es mich an „Du bist eine Chiusan?" es hebt seine Arme und... Es will das ich es hoch hebe? Ich lupfe das kleine weise Wesen hoch und es klettert auf meinen Kopf. „Die Wache hat uns die Erlaubnis gegeben einzutreten, im Gegensatz wollte sie hochgehoben werden!" sagt Nopi. Irritiert und mit der Wache auf meinem Kopf treten wir ein in den Palast, drinnen angekommen begrüßt uns eine prachtvoll eingerichtete Empfangshalle. Die Decke ziert ein großes Bild von einem Nopi wie es nach der Hand eines Wes- Moment! 

Das Wesen hat humane Züge, ja ich bin mir sicher! Ein weiblicher Körper und ein schmales Gesicht mit verschlossenen Augen und kurzen haaren! Ich blicke zu Nopi, es scheint es nicht zu verwundern... Ich hoffe der König wird mir ein paar meiner Fragen beantworten können.

„Wir sind da!" ruft die Wache die sich auf meinem Kopf niedergelassen hat, sie klettert an mir herunter und rennt vor ein breites Tor, es klopft.

„...was verstehst du nicht an meinem Befehl die Stadt zu evakuieren?!?" ruft eine Dumpfe Stimme aus dem Raum.

„Mein König, sie haben Gäs-" King Nopi unterbricht den Wächter „Nicht, interessiert!" 

Nopi rennt an der Wache vorbei und stürmt zu meinem Grauen den Raum, es fuchtelt herum, springt auf und ab und ruft mehrmals hintereinander „Ich habe eine Chiusan gefunden, ich hab eine Chiusan gefunden!"

Ein Buch kommt geflogen und verfehlt es nur knapp

„...Na schön..." grummelt King Nopi. „Bringt dieses Chiusan in den Raum bevor ich es mir anders überlege, ich bin viel beschäftigt. Ich bin immerhin derjenige der plant wie es in diesem Krieg weiter verläu-" 

King Nopi verstummt als ich in den Raum trete. Der König sieht genauso aus wie ein normales Nopi, nur das es eine Krone trägt und... Merkwürdige Augen hat? Anstelle der Knopfaugen die Nopis normalerweise haben hat es realistische Augen. King Nopi starrt mich gebannt an „Ihr zwei, bleibt draußen..." sagt es und deutet auf Nopi und den Wächter. Das Tor schließt sich wieder, bedrückende stille füllt den Raum. „Komm mit, ich bin mir sicher du hast viele Fragen..." sagt es plötzlich, es steht von seinem Trohn auf und geht zu einer Tür die hinter einem Vorhang versteckt war.
„Es tut mir leid wenn ich vorhin unfreundlich erschien, aber diese Position verlangt mich einiges ab." Ich nicke, denn irgendwie kann ich King Nopi verstehen.
Als ich mich entschloss dieses Abenteuer zu starten hätte ich nie gedacht das ich so schnell Antworten auf meine Fragen bekommen würde! King Nopi führt mich in einen Zwischenraum, es schweigt während sich die Tür hinter uns mechanisch schließt, sobald sie sich geschlossen hat öffnet sich vor uns ein Tor. Das schweigen ist mir unangenehm, plötzlich fühlt sich dieser Ort so... ich kann es nicht beschreiben aber mein Bauchgefühl sagt mir das etwas hier nicht richtig ist.

Rotes licht flutet den Raum, vor meinen Augen befindet sich... 

Die obere Hälfte einer gigantischen Leiche? Ihre Arme und ihr Torso sind an die Wand genagelt! Das Gesicht ist unerkenntlich hinter Binden und ihren kurzen Haaren versteckt. Fragend blicke ich zu King Nopi „Was du hier siehst ist eine Göttin, der Grund für den Krieg... Nein, Krieg kann man das nicht nennen. Sie ist der Grund für den Alptraum den wir bekämpfen."  King Nopi schreitet den Raum auf und ab „Du hast es mit Sicherheit schon gemerkt, die Ähnlichkeit zwischen dir und ihr..."
Sprachlos stehe ich vor ihr, was ist das für eine Welt?

Nopis Welt 1

„Mmn... Moment, wo bin ich?", mit schmerzendem rücken stehe ich auf. Die sonne scheint mir grell ins Gesicht und ich spüre eine leichte brise. „Ich kenne diesen Ort gar nicht..." murmle ich vor mich hin, ich schaue mich erstaunt um. Um mich herum erstreckt sich eine blühende Wiese, der Duft der Blumen lenkt mich für einen Moment ab und fasst vergesse ich das ich mich an einem mir fremden Ort befinde.

Wieder gefasst denke ich über meine Situation nach, wie bin ich hier her gekommen? Was noch viel wichtiger ist, woher bin ich überhaupt gekommen? Das kann nicht sein, warum weis ich das nichtmehr?

 Moment! Mein Name... „Ich bin Chiusan." Wenigstens weis ich das noch. Ich lasse meinen blick noch einmal streifen, dabei bemerke ich rauch aus einer Richtung emporsteigen. „Vielleicht kann man mir ja helfen?"

Ich versuche los zu sprinten, doch das Grass ist noch feucht und voller Tau! „Argh!..." Als ich versuche mich wieder aufzurichten fällt mir etwas ins Auge. Vor mir liegt eine kleine weiße Kreatur, sie scheint zu schlafen. „Vielleicht kannst du mir ja sagen wo ich hier bin." Ich stupse die Kreatur mehrmals mit meinem Finger. Verdutzt schaut sie mich an, dann fällt ihr blick auf das Feld, dann wieder auf mich. „Wo ist Nopi?" fragt die Kreatur und reibt sich mit ihrer Tatze die Augen. „Du bist auch verloren?" entgegne ich, anscheinend bin ich nicht die einzige die hier verwundert aufwacht. Die Kreatur stellt sich aufrecht hin, erst jetzt bemerke ich wie klein sie ist, sie reicht mir fasst zu den Knien, hat Knopfaugen und kleine Katzen Ohren. „Nopi ist nicht verloren! Aber Nopi weis trotzdem nicht wo es ist." Sagt das kleine Wesen. „Dein name ist Nopi?"

„Nopi ist Nopi, bist du auch ein Nopi? Du siehst nicht wie ein Nopi aus... Du siehst aus wie ein Dämon! Bist du ein lieber Dämon?" sichtbar verwirrt wackle ich mit meinem kopf. „Mein name ist Chiusan, ich bin hier aufgewacht und weis nichtmehr woher ich gekommen bin, geschweige denn wo ich hier überhaupt bin."

Nopis Augen funkeln „Nopi will dir Nopis Haus zeigen!" es deutet in die Richtung aus der Rauch empor steigt.

„Ich hätte da aber noch eine fra-" mitten im Satz rennt Nopi los. Mir bleibt nichts anderes übrig als Nopi zu folgen, vorsichtig schreite ich über das Grass damit ich nicht wieder ausrutsche. Plötzlich ertönt ein ohrenbetäubender Lärm aus der ferne, ich bleibe stehen und drehe mich in dessen Richtung um. Mir bleibt der Atem weg, eine riesengroße rauchende Flug Maschine saust über mich hinweg, sie bedeckt fast vollständig den Himmel über mir „Was war denn das?!?" Jetzt habe ich noch mehr fragen über diesen Ort, Nein... diese Welt.

Ich folge den weg den Nopi genommen hat und schon finde ich mich vor einem kleinem altmodischen Haus wieder, das Dach ist mit Blech bedeckt und draußen stehen lauter Fässer mit Eisenschrott. 

„Sowas aber auch, die Tür ist groß genug das ich in das Haus komme..." ich öffne vorsichtig die Tür. Vor mir steht Nopi wie es an einer merkwürdigen Maschine arbeitet, es blickt zu mir „Ah, du bist da! Nopi hat noch kurz an Nopis Panzer gearbeitet." Ich setze mich auf den Boden und seufze „Nopi, weist du wo ich hier bin? Ich bin plötzlich hier aufgewacht und ich kann mich an nichts erinnern..." bedrückt senke ich meinen kopf. Nopi kommt zu mir und tröstet mich „Nicht traurig sein, Nopi weis auch oft nicht wo es gerade ist! Vielleicht hast du deine Vergangenheit ja vergessen!" 

„Nopi hat eine Idee! Nopi wird dich zu König Nopi bringen, er kann dir vielleicht helfen." Sagt Nopi und springt auf und ab. Ich streichle Nopi über den Kopf, auf einmal fühle ich mich nicht mehr traurig oder verloren. Es ist fasst so als hätte ich mich damit abgefunden in dieser fremden Welt gestrandet zu sein. Mit neuem Mut stehe ich auf. „Na gut Nopi, ich werde mich auf ein Abenteuer begeben und alles über diese Welt herausfinden!" Nopi klettert mein Bein hoch und setzt sich auf meinen Kopf „Nopi will auch! Nimm Nopi mit!"

Ich lächle und lupfe es runter, mein blick fällt auf den ‚Panzer' wie Nopi die Maschine genannt hat „Was ist ein Panzer?" Nopi gestikuliert wild als es mir erklärt was ein Panzer ist „Ein Panzer ist ein Fortbewegungsmittel, Nopis benutzen Panzer um auf Abenteuer zu gehen! Meinen Panzer habe ich erst gestern fertiggestellt!"

Der Panzer hat einen schmallen aber hohen Turm und eine große Kanone, auf der seite des Turms ist ein Emblem von Nopi abgebildet. Ich fahre mit der Hand über die stählerne grüne Panzerung, dieses Ding ist ja genauso groß wie ich... Deshalb sind die Türen so groß. „Kannst du mich auf deinem Panzer mitnehmen? Wir wollten ja den König... ehm King Nopi aufsuchen."

Voller Freude klettert Nopi in den Panzer und man hört wie der Motor der Maschine aufheult „Nopi fährt raus, setz dich dann auf Nopis Turm und halte dich gut fest!"

Draußen angekommen setze ich mich auf den Turm des Panzers, mein Herz pocht stark „Das ist der Anfang meines Abenteuers... Nopi? Was war eigentlich dieses große fliegende Ding das hier kürzlich vorbei flog?"

Nopi antwortet „Das war wahrscheinlich eine Bomber Einheit der royalen Truppe, sie schienen nicht so viel Glück mit ihrem Einsatz gehabt zu haben."

„Einsatz?" frage ich.

„Sie haben einen Angriff gegen die Dämonen geflogen, der Krieg hat sie schon tief ins Landes innere getrieben."

Ohne weitere Worte fahren wir los, ein Krieg...

Nopis world

Nopis created moving islands in order to explore the oceans, their moving islands are based on tanks, in fact the islands themselves are giant tanks where the chains reach down to the ground. On top of this kind of tank you can find the island which can often have the size of a town. The Nopi living on such moving islands can be described as sailors because they prefer living surrounded by the ocean. But as easy as the life on the sea can be, it can also be troublesome, a group of Nopis ‘stole’ an island and made it their pirate base from which they direct plane raids on the surrounding islands. Even though these raids look like hell broke loose with blazing anti-air guns and sirens, no Nopi has ever been harmed during a raid. The only downside of the moving islands is that they cant pass the abyss surrounding their known territory. Even though the outside world is accessible to every Nopi by plane or ship, they prefer not to go outside because it is rare for a Nopi to ever return from the unknown, only a handful has ever been able to return and share their stories with others. Many of their tales are absurd, a very known tale is about a great sandy place with towers touching a sky made out of blood. The blood dessert is the most known tale from the outside world. Giant mountains of sand, towers reaching into the blood red sky and silence everywhere, neither the wind can be felt nor heard. It is a strange place emitting a feeling of uncomfortableness. The towers are said to have entrances, but no Nopi has ever reported about the inside of such a tower. Ghost stories imply that the towers are monsters sent by space to lure adventurer inside them and then dissolve them, that’s how younger nopis scare each other. A reused ‘stolen’ island was made the base of a group of pirates, their emblem is the typical Nopi face with an eye patch painted on. Pirate Nopis love the live on the sea, for their raids on surrounding islands they use special light-built planes that are able to land on water. A big part of their island base is a tower with a big cannon on top. But even on the sea Nopis are not safe from the demons, all they can do is hope and pray that they will never have to fight a demon. The main religion Nopis have is paganism, they worship nature and all the creations it brings with it. One day Nopis found a ruin and within it, an giant like ancient being. The corpse of the being they found was later labeled ‘goddess’, the goddess was worshiped since she must have been the highest of creations nature has ever made. But soon the worshipers turned into giant beings with red skin and deformed faces, later known as ‘demons’. The demons started attacking and killing Nopis wherever they appeared. But the night,are is not over once a demon was killed, their body will begin to rot and set free a terrible virus that can turn Nopis into demons. Once Nopis turned into demons they loose themselves and forget how they used to be. This is the reason why the ‘goddess cult’ has been forbidden by King-Nopi. Because of the danger of a demon attack Nopis developed a strong military. The forests they had to cut down and the holes they needed to dig harmed nature, therefore a special unit was created with the sole purpose of planting trees and other plants to give their beloved nature back what they took.
